Hello

and welcome to Assemble The Outcasts.

This website is quite small now but will grow over time to include a
discussion forum, a weblog of current events, and a fairly diverse
library of modern Christian revelation. The thesis of this site is
that the Bible is unfinished, and that a Third Testament is being
written by people all around the world today. Most do not know each
other, and few are aware of the long and rich history of continual
revelation which has nourished the Church during her sojourn in the
wilderness of Babylonian captivity.

With a name like "assemble the outcasts" we clearly appeal to the widest
range of believers, a colorful assortment of people, many of whom have
been cast out of the mainstream Christian manner of seeking God. This
site then is a forum of people who arrive from all directions, from all
beliefs even, to a rough-and-tumble agreement that the role of the
outcast is an important role within Christianity, which ought to played
with dignity by those who find themselves in it. We like to think that
because we have struggled so much against the confusion of modern
Christianity, that we have particular sensitivities to the needs of
others who have likewise suffered, and thus we tolerate the strangest
beliefs among each other.

We understand the name of outcast from the inside, not from the outside.
We often don't fit in well within our own home church environment,
always seeking beyond what others accept as the truth, puzzled by how
they are happy with so little. Mainstream visitors may find this site
more than they can handle. We see that as just another odd belief, just
another one of the odd beliefs in our midst, and we're okay with that,
because the core belief that Jesus Christ as our "Lord, Saviour, and
Friend" is shared in common. We agree that Faith, Repentance, Baptism,
the Gift of the Holy Spirit, and Becoming as a Child are the essence of
what we are given to do for our part in salvation, which is by grace,
with the work of love revealing the measure of our grace. We are
commended to love our neighbor whether they cast us out or not, and so
we work out how to do so in forums like this.

Enjoy your visit, and check back in the future, when we've got a little
more momentum and fun things are happening here.
